Slant and spin

The Big First Tea Party, your local neighbors, are the middle class, and we have been denied access to have a program on your American Constitution. Eric Norris from the Hays Public Library said we would "slant the Constitution." David Dunn of the library board of directors said we would "spin the Constitution." Patrick Lowry, a decent young man who is the editor of our local newspaper said the library denied us for the wrong reason as he thought the real reason should have been religion.
Mr. Norris and Mr. Dunn do not explain what the "slant" would be or what the "spin" would be. The words "slant" and "spin" could be nebulous political rhetoric.
Anyone who has ever studied the history of the United States of America was taught that one of the main reasons the people who discovered and settled America came for religious freedom. I will quote from one of the books I wrote, "It is Written the Shocking Downfall of the USA": Folks, an unbelievable event happened in the world in 1776 as God had His hand on a remarkable group of men who were willing to sacrifice everything including their lives to form a country, a republic, and create 'something' called democracy. The odds of that happening were astronomical."
History revealed that fewer than one-third of the people who lived in America in 1776 supported this new idea. Remarkably, the same percentage of Americans are willing to stand up today to defend their rights and country. We are fighting for the "soul" of America. There is no legitimate excuse for those who are silent who believe in the Constitution not to get involved and support our movement to save us all.
But one cannot defend what one does not know. Most Americans do not know what is in the Constitution. Probably more foreigners know our Constitution than we do. Our Constitution is what drives people from all over the world to want to come to America. The readers of The Hays Daily News have the opportunity to learn what is in our Constitution. You must sign up by Feb. 10 to attend the program on the Constitution on Feb. 20 at the VFW Hall. Tickets will be available at the Hays Mall on Feb. 5 to 9. It's a small sacrifice to make. The preamble of Kansas is, "We the people of Kansas, grateful to Almighty God for our civil and religious privileges establish this Constitution."
What is our agenda? We want as many people who are interested in their country to learn their Constitution. We will not "preach" any religious doctrine. Religious freedom is a First Amendment right, and that is the only place in our teaching that religion is mentioned.
In conclusion, we are not a political party and we do not preach religion. Everyone is welcome. Sign up today.
