I have served on the Hays City Commission for the last 16 years. As you know, I have not filed for reappointment, so I can spend more time with my family. However, I always have and always will care and support every aspect of our community. That is why I am inspired to support one of our local candidates, and encourage every one of you to do the same.
In full disclosure, my son attends Holy Family Elementary. He is pre-enrolled in TMP's Junior High and will attend TMP.
But that does not mean that I am not concerned about the USD 489 school district. I am a supporter and taxpayer of our local public school system. I want to be confident that we have representatives who are dedicated and grounded in the decisions that the USD 489 school board has to make, regardless of the challenges they might face.
I realize the decisions that are made by the USD 489 school board have an impact on our community, our taxpayers, their teachers, their students/parents, and even the private schools.
That is why I am supporting Josh Waddell. For the last three years, Josh Waddell was one of my son's football coaches in the Western Kansas Football League. These past three years, I have gotten to know Josh personally, as well as professionally. I can tell you that he is a man of honor, a man of dedication to every aspect of a child's life, and a man whose word is truth.
This man is, without a doubt, a man who can be trusted. I know that you might not always agree with every decision that is made by the USD 489 school board, but you will always respect Josh Waddell's integrity.
