Principle versus compromise

I've seen two scathing columns in this newspaper recently trying to stomp a good man into the ground. Will this paper go to the North Pole (maybe Mars) the next time to find some liberal to beat up on Tim Huelskamp as our representative to the U.S. House?

What do I care that Alan Jilka was the former mayor of some town in central Kansas or what he and some nobody professor of some small college in central Kansas thinks? If our Good Lord himself ran for office, both of them would be attack dogs because they are liberals.

The two want Huelskamp to compromise. To those of us that know the truth about what is going on in D.C., compromise is a dirty word.

Here's the $64,000 question (make that a $16 trillion question)? Are things getting any better in the nation's capital or the White House or even the Supreme Court? The answer, obviously, is no.

Republicans in Congress, with the exception of a few like Huelskamp, are compromising all over the place as our national $16 trillion debt becomes a tsunami, taxes are going up, there is no job creation, there is fraud, waste and corruption like never before, no transparency, the entire world in turmoil, etc.

Compromise is probably the main reason the job approval rating of Congress is at historic lows. Republicans have compromised to the point where the party is becoming irrelevant.

The two attack dogs above would serve this country and readers of this paper better if they got after their messiah, the anointed one called Obama, for failure to compromise on anything. Obama even had the gall to say spending is not a problem. Compromise to him is all about spending even more.

If we took a poll of those voters eligible last November to vote for Huelskamp, my guess is those people think our congressman is doing a great job for us in D.C. I hope readers take the paper's attack dogs with a grain of salt.

I hope Huelskamp, a good Christian and conservative, sticks to his guns on principle. I, for one, have the greatest admiration for this congressman who stands up to the elites back east, Democrats and Republicans alike.

One final thought. If Mitt Romney had a presidential run on Huelskamp's principles, he would be today's president and this country would be on its way to recovery.
