New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
National debt: $14,270,000,000,000
Budget cuts: $650,000,000,000
Remove eight zeros from the above figures and apply to a household
Annual income: $22,000
Money spent: $38,000
New credit card debt: $16,500
Outstanding balance on credit card: $142,700
Budget cuts: $6500
