Light should be red
There could have been a serious accident Sunday -- Mother's Day -- at 28th and Hall streets where the city has a blinking light for pedestrians to cross.
Some of the people crossing there to go to Cerv's and to Dillons are in wheelchairs and count on the fact that drivers will stop at a blinking caution light before those crossing start rolling into the intersection. A blinking caution light is not the answer for that location. It should be red.
Specifically, my sister is in a wheelchair and I started to enter the intersection after we activated the blinking light. Two cars proceeded through that intersection without even slowing down after the light started blinking.
For that reason, I ask you to consider a red light for the safety of the many people who cross there.
Thank you.
