The right person

As I watch in disbelief the untruthful attack postcards being distributed in the 111th District for state representative, it reminds me of the Republican primary in my senate district in Barton County. Sen. Ruth Teichman lost her bid for re-election in the primary due to a bombardment of untruthful attack postcards similar to the ones being distributed in the 111th District through the financial backing of the largest corporation in the state of Kansas.

These legislators, along with other legislators, are being targeted because they do not "rubber stamp" the desires of large corporations, but are able to study all of the information and make informed decisions for all citizens in their district and in the state of Kansas.

Eber Phelps is a working person, and he works hard in his role as a legislator. He understands the importance of a quality educational system and the creation of jobs. He also believes in tax fairness so that the burden of funding government does not fall solely on property owners.

There is a tough job in Topeka; Eber Phelps is the right person for the job.

Bill Lowry, Hoisington, USD 431 superintendent
