Saving the ferret

Thank you, Sheila Ellis, for supplying me with the contact information for commenting in support of the Black-footed Ferret Safe Harbor Agreement initiative. Your ludicrous scare tactics in your recent letter to the editor blaming the valiant effort of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in saving this rare Kansas native is beyond belief.

No reasonable Kansan will believe your statement the USFWS has somehow been responsible for there being a rattlesnake behind every third yucca plant in Logan County. This, along with other misstatement of facts, shows just how desperate you are in undermining the efforts of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in reintroducing the black-footed ferret to its native Kansas.

I urge all Kansans to support the Black-footed Ferret Safe Harbor Agreement initiative by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and submit a positive comment by February 22 via email to ferretsha@fws.gov; via fax to (970) 897-2732 or via mail to Kimberly Tamkun, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center, P.O. Box 190, Wellington, Co. 80549-0190
