At this month's meeting of the Hays After 5 Christian women's group, Sally Brandon will tell how she processes natural fibers, from alpaca to yak, into exquisite yarns and fabrics at The Shepherds Mill, Phillipsburg.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. July 8 at Pam's Bakery Shop, 280 E. Eighth.

Laura Gonnella of Dawson, Neb., the featured speaker, presenting "It's All in the Timing."

Gonnella is a Minnesota transplant who has taken well to the soils of rural Nebraska. She and her husband, Mark, have a 40-acre hobby farm on which they have had everything from Guinea fowl to hogs, peaches to children. With hindsight being 20/20, Gonnella will look back on her life and view the timing of important events.
