The FHSU/Hays City Band will begin the summer season with a rehearsal from 7 to 9 p.m. June 3 in the band room at Malloy Hall on the campus of Fort Hays State University.

This year's summer band will rehearse on Monday evenings through July 1. Concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings beginning with the June 11 concert on the Quad on the FHSU campus, June 18 at Washington Grade School in Ellis and June 25 in WaKeeney.

The season will conclude on July 4 with a 7 p.m. concert at Historic Fort Hays.

Jeff Jordan, conductor of the band, said group is open to all ranges and abilities.

"We have players in middle school as well as community members in their eighties with almost everything in between," he said. "This band points up the fact that music is something you can always do while it's also a great inter-generational learning experience for everyone involved."

For more information, contact Jordan at (785) 628-5364 or jjordan@fhsu.edu.
