This Christmas season, acclaimed Irish ensemble band Dan̼ will bring its festive, foot-stomping tunes to Fort Hays State University at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 as part of the Encore Series. The concert, "Christmas in Ireland: An Nollaig in ̉irinn," will feature traditional Gaelic and Christmas music.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 11.

Danú is a six-piece ensemble on traditional instruments such as the tin whistle, bodhrðn and bouzouki. The singer, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, is fluent in both English and Gaelic, performing songs ranging from familiar Christmas carols such as "Angels We Have Heard on High" to "Le Caoinle na n'Aingeal," or "Candle of Angels," a song about the Christmas tradition of lighting a candle in the window as a sign of welcome.
