FHSU homecoming royalty hails from Hutch, Kensington

Sydney Lower, Hutchinson, and Daniel Hill, Kensington, were crowned Fort Hays State University's 2013 homecoming queen and king during the halftime show of the FHSU-William Jewell football game Oct. 5.

Lower is a sophomore majoring in secondary education mathematics. She is involved in the Catholic Disciples, Distinguished Scholars, Honor Society, cross country and track teams, and Crossroads.

Lower, a 2012 graduate of Wichita Collegiate School, is the daughter of Greg and Teri Lower, Hutchinson.

Hill is a junior majoring in music education. He is involved in McMindes Hall Council, Residence Hall Association, National Residence Hall Honorary, Distinguished Scholars, Marching Band and Jazz Band.

Hill, a 2011 graduate of Franklin High School, Franklin, Neb., is the son of Kyle and Dave Mankhey, Kensington.
