HILL CITY -- Kansas' Wildest Rodeo is looking for females the ages of 10 to 15, and 16 to 23 who would like to compete for its princess and queen. Those interested will be competing July 18 at the Graham County Fairgrounds in Hill City. There will be a parade the evening of July 27, followed by the rodeo. All contestants are asked to ride in the parade.

The contest will begin at 8 a.m. July 18. There will be two go-rounds of horsemanship, a personal interview and a written test. The public is invited to watch.

The 2009 Jayhawker Rodeo Queen and Princess will be announced July 20, during the opening night of the Jayhawker Roundup Rodeo. They will participate in the grand entry of the rodeo all three nights.

The deadline for entry is July 10. Application forms are to be returned by July 15.
