Special to the HDN

The Global Leadership Project at Fort Hays State University will have the third annual Swipe Out Hunger event from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at Forsyth Library to raise awareness about world hunger.

Swipe Out Hunger is a statewide bulk food-packaging event among higher education institutions in Kansas. Packaged meals will be sent to those in need both for those on campus and in Rwanda, Africa. Swipe Out Hunger events are sponsored by the nonprofit group Numana Inc.

The event will be held in one-hour time slots. The first 300 people to sign up will be guaranteed a time slot. Volunteers can participate individually or as a team. Registration forms are due Oct. 22.
