Multiple District 17-K4 Lions Club members from Hays and Goodland met April 19 in Hays to sort eyeglasses and hearing aids.

Eyeglass Collection chairwoman Dolores (Dee) Bodine from the Hays Lions Club organized the event.

The eyeglass project resulted in the collection of 4,212 pairs of useable eyeglasses, 67 pounds of sunglasses, 55 pounds of broken frames, 110 pounds of lenses, 253 pounds of eyeglass cases and 12 pounds of gold frames. The eyeglasses and hearing aids are used in developing countries. Citizens wishing to donate should contact local program coordinator Paul Phillips at (785) 625-6774.
