Healthy employees enhance business productivity. Walk Kansas, sponsored by K-State Research and Extension, can be a valuable worksite wellness program this spring. Research has shown a $3 return for every $1 invested in employee wellness initiatives.

Walk Kansas is a team-based eight-week program designed to help participants lead a healthier life by being more active and making better nutrition choices.

There are several ways for employers to help employees participate in Walk Kansas. For example, employers can sponsor teams of six employees at $18 per team ($3 per person.) Or, businesses can encourage employee teams to enroll in Walk Kansas on their own. In-house competition or added activities can enhance the program and add to the fun.

Team registration packets and details are available at the Ellis County Extension office, 601 Main in Hays, by calling (785) 628-9430 or visiting www.ellis.ksu.edu. The deadline to register teams is Monday.
