Addie B. Kingsley
Addie B. Kingsley, 94, Hays, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, in Hays.
She was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Seligman, Mo., to Randolph and Kate (Frost) Skelton.
She married David Mahlon Kingsley on July 24, 1949, in Hays.
She taught in the Buckeye rural school and area Hays schools before moving to Kansas City to work for Kansas City Power and Light. After marrying, she lived on a farm south of Ellis and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Ellis United Methodist Church, the church circle, Eastern Star and PEO.
She served as a 4-H leader and enjoyed gardening, knitting and weaving.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Douglas Kingsley and wife, Debbie, Lampe, Mo., Roger and Jody Patten, Ellis, and Timothy Kingsley and wife, Lilly, Hays; five grandchildren, Joshua Kingsley and wife, Misty, Milwaukee, Wis., Bradley Kingsley and wife, Rebekah, Brooklyn, N.Y., Rachel Loving and husband, Shane, Hays, Erica Hedge and husband, Andrew, Overland Park, and Austin Fickel, Branson, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Alexander and Isaac Loving, Hays, and William Kingsley, Brooklyn; a cousin, Lily Georgene Johnson, Hays; two nieces, Mary Kay Winburn and husband, Jim, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Anabelle Wiles and husband, Dean, Kansas City; and two nephews, Steve Alexander, Merriam, and Randy Alexander and wife, Alice, Olathe.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Butrick and Catherine Anderson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Ellis; burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Ellis United Methodist Church in her name.
