Alden Benjamin Detrixhe

Alden Benjamin Detrixhe, 84, Russell, formerly of Hays, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at his home.

He was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Ames to Joseph and Grace (Snavely) Detrixhe.

He married Capdolia Goernandt on Aug. 14, 1944, in San Francisco. He was a county health inspector for Greenwood, Montgomery and Ellis counties. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Stan A. Detrixhe, rural Hays, and Gene Detrixhe, rural Russell; a brother, Arvid Detrixhe, Concordia; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary Chapel, Russell; inurnment will follow services.

Memorials are suggested to Southwind Hospice in care of the mortuary.
