There are many candidates running to replace Jerry Moran, but only one candidate stands out.

I have known Rob Wasinger for more than 13 years, ever since I met him in Washington when he was working as a legislative assistant for Sen. Sam Brownback. It came as no surprise to me that over the years Sam Brownback promoted Rob to legislative director and later, as his chief of staff. Rob is bright, smart, articulate and has vision.

During his years in Washington, Rob never forgot who his employer was, the people of Kansas. Rob was always quick to pick up the phone and help me with whatever issue we were facing in Clay Center. That's why I know that as our next congressman, Rob will always stay connected and will continue to fight for rural Kansas just like Jerry Moran has.

The first district of Kansas would be well served by electing Rob Wasinger as our next Republican congressman Tuesday.
