Trich the focus of seminar
Special to The Hays Daily News
What is trichomoniasis, and how can you control it?
Trichomoniasis, or trich, is a venereal disease of cattle that can be economically devastating for infected herds. Pregnancy rates could be decreased as much as 50 percent or more when trich enters the herd. Trich once was a problem for cattle herds in the western United States, but it has made its way to Kansas -- and infected cattle have been detected in the area.
Come learn more about trich and how local cattle producers can control and prevent the spread of the disease. Representatives from Kansas State university Veterinary School, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Kansas Animal Health Department will provide information and answer questions cattle producers might have at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Russell County 4-H Building. A meal will be served at 6:30 p.m.
RSVP is requested by Thursday to the Russell County Extension office at (785) 483-3157 or email@example.com.
