Arrest made in connection with Colby death

COLBY -- Billy Shank has been arrested in connection with the weekend death of Teri Morris, 27, Colby, Randall Jones, Colby police chief, confirmed Monday afternoon.
Jones said Shank, reportedly from Garden City, was "in transport" Monday, but he could not say from where Shank was being transported.
Law enforcement in Colby and Thomas County referred all questions to the Kansas Attorney General's office in Topeka.
"The Kansas Attorney General's office has agreed to assume responsibility for the review of a pending investigation involving the weekend death of 27-year-old Teri Morris in Colby," AG spokesman Don Brown said in a statement. "An individual has been taken into custody in connection with the death. The investigation is ongoing. The Attorney General's office can make no additional comment at this time."
The Colby 911 center received a call at 6:59 a.m. Saturday regarding a house fire at 125 S. Chickamauga, Colby.
Emergency workers found Morris's body near the front of the home. She was unresponsive and was taken to Citizens Medical Center in Colby, where she later died.
A flood of information has been shared on Facebook, but no official information has been released.
Obituary information from Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin lists Morris as being the meat market manager at Walmart in Colby and a Thomas County emergency medical technician.
