Golf club's restaurant open to public
ELLIS -- Ellis Golf Club has revamped its restaurant in addition to overhauling its golf course and management since re-opening last year.
"We've kept our restaurant open year-round, and we've improved our menu. Just trying to get everybody aware we're open," said manager Joshua Wilson.
The restaurant, which is closed Mondays, has a Sunday brunch that starts at 9 a.m. Sunday dinner service starts at noon. Winter hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and 5 p.m. to approximately 8 or 9 p.m. for dinner Tuesday through Saturday. During the summer, there will be a limited menu between lunch and dinner, and the kitchen will stay open for dinner until approximately 9 p.m., or longer if needed. There is a lunch special. Ray Herman, former owner of Rooftops in Hays, will be the chef for weekend dinners.
"We offer a selection of steaks," Wilson said. "We're getting known for our hamburgers."
The restaurant is not for members only, but is open to the public.
