FHSU baseball drops series finale to No. 9 Mules

The Fort Hays State University baseball team dropped its third straight game Sunday, falling 10-0 at the hands of No. 9 ranked University of Central Missouri at Larks Park.
With the loss, the Tigers dropped to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in MIAA play, while Central Missouri moved to 6-1, 3-0 in conference.
The game ended after seven innings via the run-rule, while FHSU committed seven errors. Only half of the Mules' runs were earned. Tiger starter Robert VanCour lasted 1.2 innings, giving up three runs in taking the loss.
Horace Johnson had two hits for the Tigers against Mules starer Travis Higgs, who pitched six innings for the win.
The Tigers are back Wednesday at Larks Park to take on Washburn University in a doubleheader. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
