Tiger men win seventh straight, tied for MIAA lead

KEARNEY, Neb. -- After trailing by 10 in the first half against University of Nebraska-Kearney, the Fort Hays State University men's basketball team rallied to win 82-70 for the Tigers' seventh straight victory.
The win, fueled by a career-high 35 points for Dwayne Brunson, leaves the Tigers in a first-place tie in the MIAA.
Brunson shot 14 of 16 from the field and was 7-for-7 from the free throw line, while the Tigers hit 16 of 18 at the foul stripe.
The Tigers were down 10, but went on a 44-18 run to take control of the game. Fort Hays led by as many as 19, but Kearney battled back to within nine late, but Fort Hays staved off the run.
The Tigers moved to 17-6, 11-4 in MIAA play, and travel to Washburn University on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. start.
