Tiger volleyball falls to 0-9

ST JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Fort Hays State Unviersity volleyball team dropped to 0-9 with a 3-1 loss to Missouri Western State University on Tuesday.

Missouri Western won 25-22, 25-20 in the first two games, but the Tigers took the third set, 25-21, before falling 25-21 to end the match.

Missouri Western improved to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in MIAA play. The Tigers are 0-4 in the MIAA.

Taylor Mares had 13 kills to lead the Tigers and Mallory Flagor added 11. Raegan Vanderplas had 22 assists and Libby Ary added 18. Makenzie Weinman and Madison Schwartz had 11 digs each and Jenna Ulrich recorded five blocks.

Fort Hays returns home Saturday for a 3 p.m. match with Northwest Missouri State University.
