Tiger women 9-0 for first time in school history

GOODWELL, Okla. -- For the first time in school history, the Fort Hays State University women's basketball team is 9-0.
The Tigers, ranked No. 11 in the nation, the highest ranking in the program's NCAA Division II history, won 87-54 at Oklahoma-Panhandle State University on Saturday.
Junior Katelyn Edwards and sophomore Kate Lehman each recorded a double-double in the effort as the Tigers jumped out to a 20-point first-half lead and never led by less than seven against the Aggies (3-7).
Edwards notched 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Lehman scored 16 and pulled down 13 boards. Fort Hays also got nine points from Kelsie Sorenson, to go along with six rebounds. Tera Ingalsbe added seven, as did freshman Paige Lunsford. Traci Keyser scored eight.
Fort Hays led by as many as 35 in the game, and had an 11-0 run in the first half, holding Panhandle scoreless for a little more than five minutes.
The game was the last for the Tigers before the holiday break. Fort Hays returns to action Dec. 29 against South Dakota School of Mines. Game time is 2 p.m. at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
