Tiger men's cross country wins at Emporia -- women second

EMPORIA -- The Fort Hays State University men's cross country team earned the title Friday at the Emporia State Unviersity Invitational.

The Tigers scored 66 points, 18 ahead of University of St. Mary. Isaac Mills and Cory Keehn paced the Tigers with fifth- and sixth-place finishes, respectively.

Mills finished in 26 minutes, 36 seconds, with Keehn coming at at 26:41.

Cloud County Community College's Bernard Keter won the the individual title in 25:43.

Chris Ramsgard finshed 17th for the Tigers and Jonn Bernasky was 22nd. Ryan Hopkins rounded out the Tigers' team scoring in 26th place.

The Tiger women finished second Friday, paced by an 11th-place finish for Hannah Robinson. FHSU was eight points back of champion Baker University.

Robinson finished in 20:05. The the four scoring Tigers came in order 15th through 17th in Micki Krzesinski (20:12.16), Kylie Gaughan (20:14.81), Marie Schaller (20:15.62) and Ramsey McCarter (20:16.23).

The next action for the Tigers is Oct. 12 at the FHSU Open at the Sand Plum Nature Trail near Victoria. The run begins at 9 a.m.
