FHSU's Keehn qualifies for nationals

JOPLIN, Mo. -- Fort Hays State University sophomore Cory Keehn will represent the Tiger men's cross country team at the national meet.
Keehn was the highest finisher of a non-qualifying team at Saturday's NCAA Division II Central Regional, hosted by Missouri Southern State University.
Keehn finished the 10,000-meter run in 30 minutes, 22.8 seconds to take third place overall, leading Fort Hays to a fifth-place team finish with 150 points. Augustana (S.D) and the host Lions took the top two team spots with 31 and 98 points, respectively.
The Tigers' second-best runner was Alex Hendee in 17th place with a 30:50.70, and Tanner Christensen ran 31:19.30 in 37th place.
The Tiger women finished in 14th place at the regional with 335 points, paced by a 57th-place showing for Alex Nelson, who ran the 6,000-meter course in 22:47.50.
