KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- Wildlife agents say a celebrity hunter from Tennessee illegally uses bait to attract turkeys and has been videotaped taking part in hunting trips, though he is banned from hunting.
Prosecutors are urging a federal judge to revoke probation for 50-year-old William "Spook" Spann, who pleaded guilty last year in Kansas to transporting unlawfully taken wildlife across state lines in 2007.
Spann, who has a hunting show, "Spook Nation," on the Pursuit Channel, was sentenced to three years' probation and banned from hunting for six months.
Prosecutors say the Dickson, Tenn., resident violated probation when he guided hunting parties on his property this spring. His attorney says he didn't actually hunt.
Testimony in his Kansas City, Kan., revocation hearing continued into the evening Thursday and was expected to resume Friday morning.
