Stroke seminar will be at HaysMed in May

Hays Medical Center will host Update in Stroke Care on May 3. The program will be at HaysMed, Hadley Conference Room 2, 2220 Canterbury. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., with the program running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Speakers for the program include Coleen Lechtenberg, MD, Michael Rippee, MD, and Sandra Billinger, PT, Ph.D., all from the University of Kansas Medical Center; and Richard Markiewicz, MD, and Elizabeth Ashworth, MD, HaysMed.

Topics to be covered include unusual stroke presentations, carotid stenting, carotid endarterectomy, best practices for inpatient workup and management, and stroke rehabilitation.

The program is designed for health care professionals and is approved for continuing education credit.

Fee for the program is $60 for non-HaysMed associates and $30 for Critical Access Hospital, HaysMed and Pawnee Valley Community Hospital employees. A light lunch is included in the registration.
