Henrietta 'Janie' Dreiling

Henrietta "Janie" Dreiling, 82, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at her daughter's home in Wichita.

She was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Hays, to Wendelin and Julia (Unrein) Brown.

She married Verlin Dreiling on July 12, 1948, in Hays.

She worked at St. Anthony Hospital in Hays for 27 years. She was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress and cook.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Kevin Dreiling and wife, Jan, Hutchinson; three daughters, Linda Lesovsky and husband, Don, Lakewood, Colo., Lois Smith and husband, Jerry, Marion, and Judith Purdy and husband, James, Wichita; a brother, Donald Brown, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Scott Lesovsky, Susan Lesovsky, Christopher Smith and wife, Sara, Jodi Higbee and husband, Zachary, Jason Purdy and wife, Rachel, Jean Appelhanz and husband, Richard, Erin Dreiling and wife, Stephanie, and Monica Lizalde and husband, Michael; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Brown.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
