Henry Francis 'Hank' Gagnon
Henry Francis "Hank" Gagnon, 88, Lawrence, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Zurich to Francis D. and Edwidge (Hamel) Gagnon.
He married Norma Irene Joy on May 21, 1951, in Zurich. He was involved in the family business, FD and Hank Service Station, with his father until 1958. He then became a USPS Rural Mail Carrier until retirement in February 1994 after 36 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Zurich, Knights of Columbus, Plainville, and Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Lawrence.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Jill Pruitt and husband, John, Houston, and Heidi Gowen, Lawrence; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Gagnon, Wichita; a brother, Ralph Gagnon, Leawood; three sisters, Margaret McKibben, Denver, Annette Roberts and Shelia Jenkins, both of Westminster, Colo.; a brother, Ralph Gagnon, Leawood; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Gagnon in 1998 and Michael Gagnon in 1992; a son-in-law, Dale Gowen; a sister, Doris Landry; and two brothers, Robert Gagnon, and Brother Daniel Gagnon.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church; burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in St. Ann's Cemetery, Zurich.
A rosary will be at 5 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 7 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
Memorials are suggested to Corpus Christi Catholic Church in care of the mortuary.
