Concordia's Holmes signs with Tigers

Fort Hays State University men's basketball coach Mark Johnson announced Friday an early signing for the 2014-15 season.

Concordia senior Grant Holmes committed to the Tigers and will enter his senior season with the Panthers as the third leading scorer in Concordia history.

Holmes, listed at 6-foot-4, is the son of Concordia assistant coach Derek Holmes. He has 1,000 career points for the Panthers with 327 rebounds.

He is a three-time all-NCKL first-team selection. Last season, he averaged 15.7 points per game and has been all-state in Class 4A the last three seasons. Holmes also participated in the Kansas City Run GMC AAU program for three seasons.
