Three in custody in connection with armed home invasion

Three Hays men were in custody Friday, a day after they were arrested in connection with a home invasion that netted a small amount of cash and drug-related items.
Hays Police arrested the three men -- two of whom are believed to have entered the house late Wednesday morning armed with a semi-automatic handgun -- Thursday afternoon after two search warrants were issued for homes where at least two of the men were believed to have been living, according to Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler.
He said Bobby Wilson, 22, David Draper, 26, and Clayton Staab, 26, were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and burglary.
HPD received a report shortly before noon Wednesday that two armed men had entered a house in the 2000 block of Walnut and robbed the occupants at gun point.
The two men wore bandanas, gloves and black stocking caps at the time of the robbery, Scheibler said.
Scheibler said all three men were arrested on suspicion of planning the robbery together.
"They conspired together to commit the crime," he said of why three men were arrested.
There were six people inside the residence.
"One of the occupants in the house was one of the gentlemen who was arrested," Scheibler said.
The three arrests on Thursday were made without incident, but with the help of the Special Situations and Response Team.
"With the threat of violence, with the handgun involved," Scheibler said, "we called out the SSRT team to assist."
No one was injured during the robbery.
"These things are scary," Scheibler said of the threat of violence.
But, he said, "in less than 18 hours, we had them in custody."
