James Kenneth McDougal. 63, Atwood, formerly of Hays, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.

He was born Feb. 21, 1946, in Colby to George Kenneth and Erma (Fleischacker) McDougal. He graduated from Atwood High School and Kansas State University.

He married Dianne Phelps on Aug. 28, 1966. He taught school and was a wrestling coach at Chapman High School and Wayne State University.

Survivors include two sons, James Rhett McDougal and wife, Heather, Topeka, and George Clayton McDougal, Hays; four sisters, Joyce Sis and husband, Dennis, Ogallala, Neb., Joan McDougal, Glendale, Ariz., Janice Pianalto and husband, Fred, Carlton, Minn., and Jeri Pickett and husband, Eldon, Lawrence; a special friend, Dianne Nida, Hays; and three grandchildren, Quinn, Claire and Jessee.

Services are pending.

Williams Funeral Home, Atwood, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the athletic department at Atwood High School.
