Road work will begin Tuesday in Oberlin

OBERLIN -- Next week, a project to repair a section of concrete pavement on U.S. Highway 83 near West Hall Street will change traffic patterns through Oberlin.

Beginning Tuesday, Kansas Department of Transportation crews will start removing a section of deteriorated concrete pavement near the intersection of U.S. 83 and Hall Street in Oberlin. After the concrete pavement is removed, crews will inspect and make necessary repairs to a drainage structure under this section of pavement.

A traffic light will control travel through the work zone, and access to U.S. 83 from West Hall also will be closed throughout the duration of the repair.

A width restriction of 15 feet and a height restriction of 16 feet will be in place during the phasing of the project.

This maintenance project will be complete by Dec. 4, weather permitting.
