KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- University of Kansas Hospital officials say the hospital will add a $12 million addition to a planned new medical office building on the Kansas City, Kan., campus.
The Kansas City Star reports that the 24,000-square-foot addition will house an orthopedic surgery practice.
Jon Jackson, chief administrative officer for the hospital, said Tuesday that bids for the new $73 million building were low enough that the addition could be absorbed into the existing budget.
Jackson says, barring any unforeseen delays, the building, including the new expansion, will be opened for business by April 2011.
