Glenn and Scottie Lacy, Ellis, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Laura Lacy, to Ryan Cooksey, son of Kenny and Lela Cooksey, Quinter.

Grandparents are Michael and Linda Lacy, Paoli, Ind., Marian Hanks, WaKeeney, the late Lester "Chubby" Hanks, Glynn "Skip" and Diana Matteson, Salina, Edna Cooksey, Park, the late Bob Cooksey, Victor and Jane Schmidtberger, Grainfield, and the late Esta Schmidtberger.

Great-grandmother is Noala Batterton, Sublette.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Ellis High School and a 2008 graduate of North Central Kansas Technical College with an associate's degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Quinter High School and a 2002 graduate of NCKTC with a certificate in plumbing, heating and air-conditioning. He is employed at Cooksey Appliance and TV, Quinter.

A May 23, 2009, wedding is planned at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park.
