Laura Lee Rozean

Laura Lee Rozean, 83, Plainville, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Redbud Village, Plainville.

She was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Edmond to Alexander "Glen" and Lucille (Matthews) Griffith.

She married Wade Allen Rozean on Aug. 18, 1946, in Norton. He preceded her in death April 11, 2003. She was a dietary cook at the Plainville hospital for 12 years and a cake decorator. She made cakes for her children's weddings and birthdays.

She was active in Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Dorcus Club and First Christian Church, Plainville.

She enjoyed working with children in Bible school, being a Boy Scout leader and bowling until age 83.

Survivors include three sons, Doug Rozean and wife, Carol, and Paul Rozean and wife, Joan, all of Hays, and Robert Rozean and wife, Antoniette, Lindale, Texas; three daughters, Deanna Miller and husband, Frank, Victoria, Dorthea (Jo) Rozean, Denver, and Bonnie Kendall, Vidor, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Rozean, Hays; a brother, Gayle (Harpo) Griffith and wife, Marsha, San Antonio; a sister, Samantha Smith and husband, Roger, Littleton, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Rozean and Wade Jr. Rozean; three brothers, Gene Griffith, Therwin Griffith and Gary Griffith; and three grandchildren, Trilby Rozean, William Rome and Leslie Brown.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Plainville; burial in Plainville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Rooks County Health Center, Plainville, or Hospice of HaysMed in care of the funeral home.
