MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Riley County police say they responded to 462 calls for service duirng last weekend's "Fake Paddy's Day" in Manhattan.

Police spokesman Tim Hegarty says the event was the busiest 24 hours in the city in recent history.

Police issued 133 criminal reports, arrested 37 people and handed out 89 notices to appear in court. Most of the citiations were for alcohol violations.

Hegarty says he's concerned about the number of people who attended and the amount of alcohol they consumed during the event in the Aggieville district in Manhattan.

He says there was no special event Saturday to draw people to Manhattan, so they all came just to drink alcohol.
