Tigers to participate in largest Numana food packaging event

Special to The Hays Daily News

Eighteen Fort Hays State University students have the opportunity to participate in the Guinness Book of World Records "most meals packaged in one hour" attempt this weekend.

Saturday's free trip is hosted through the Alternative Weekend trip hosted by Tigers in Service.

Students will help run the largest Numana food-packaging event at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita.

"Alternative weekends are a great way for students to meet and get to know many different kinds of people," said Becca Kohl, Hays sophomore and student coordinator for Tigers In Service. "We try to pick a diverse group of students to go on these trips."

The deadline to volunteer is today. To volunteer, students should email service@fhsu,edu or call (785) 628-5537.
