'Peanuts,' Schulz exhibition heading for library

Charlie Brown and his friends will be stopping at the Hays Public Library.

The library will host the "Inside Peanuts: The Life and Art of Charles M. Schulz" from Jan. 26 to March 10.

Emma Detrixhe, marketing administrator at Hays Public Library, said the collection includes the original Peanuts comic strip, a tribute art collection and more.

"It's not just Peanuts," Detrixhe said. "It's the entire life and work of Charles Schulz. That's the real draw."

The exhibit, which is part of the Charles M. Schulz Museum, includes archives and special collections, the Charles M. Schulz art collection and personal effects collection, a library and multimedia collection, a Peanuts product collection and more.

Detrixhe said the exhibit will be available to the public during regular library hours in the adult department gallery.

The Hays Public Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

There is one exception, however.

Detrixhe said there will be a public reception for the exhibit at 7 p.m. Feb. 1.
