Fight over gun leads to arrest
An incident police said was sparked by a botched sale of gun led to the recent arrest of a Hays man.
At 11:07 p.m. Jan. 31, officers from the Hays Police Department responded to a report of a distrubance in the alley of the 200 block of West Seventh.
No one was at the scene when officers arrived, but a pool of blood and blood trail was found/
After investigation, the HPD reported the incident was the result of a sale of a 9mm handgun and a disagreement over price. The alleged buyer, John C. Towle, 24, was arrested for aggravated battery and felony possession of a firearm. He also was cited for disorderly conduct for a separate incident that reportedly took place later.
The victim suffered head and facial injuries, the HPD said.
