Rita M. Schmidtberger, 80, Lawrence, died Tuesday, May, 6, 2008, at her home.

She was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Hays to Clement and Anna Stramel.

She married Virgil Schmidtberger on June 22, 1948 in Hays. She was a bookkeeper at Lawrence Decorating Service.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Gary, Lawrence; a daughter, Cathy Raddatz, Overland Park; three brothers, Eugene, Mancos, Colo., Jim, Hays, and Frank, Glen Elder; a sister, Irene Walters, Hays; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church; burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Lawrence.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund or the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
