Missouri man hurt after accident with plow

An accident Friday afternoon in the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 near Dorrance sent one man to the Russell Regional Hospital.

The accident occurred when Matthew Robert Wayne Cagle, 25, Joplin, Mo., driving a Suzuki Verona, braked after vehicles ahead adjusted speeds because of a snow plow truck on the shoulder of the roadway, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol report.

Cagle lost control, and the Suzuki skidded sideways and struck the back of the snowplow driven by Troy Nathan Tammen, 43, Russell. Tammen was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
