RUSSELL -- An aggravated battery early Saturday morning left two residents with injuries.

Capt. Jon Quinday said police got a call advising of a disturbance in the 800 block of East Seventh Street around 1 a.m. Saturday. Officers requested emergency medical services for two people with injuries.

Quinday said one of the injured persons refused medical treatment, while the other was transported to Russell Regional Hospital.

The police department is investigating the aggravated battery incident, as well as a related report of criminal damage to property.
