Two injured when semis collide

SELDON -- Two men were injured Tuesday when two semis collided just west of Seldon in Sheridan County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1983 International semi driven by Morris Ray Arnold, 41, Colby, was northbound on U.S. Highway 83 at approximately 12:31 p.m., preparing to make a left turn into the roadside park.

The KHP said a 2004 Kenworth semi driven by John W. Burns, Sr., Roseland, Neb., attempted to pass, striking Arnold's semi on the side.

Burns semi came to rest in the middle of the roadway, while Arnold's proceeded into the north ditch and struck a tree.

Both drivers were transported to Sheridan County Health Complex for treatment of possible injuries.

Burns was wearing a seat belt, the KHP reported, while Arnold was not.
