Brownback urges moment of silence
TOPEKA -- At the request of Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy and in remembrance of those lost in the shooting in Newtown, Conn., Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback urges all Kansans to observe a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
"On behalf of Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, and the people of the state of Kansas I would like to send my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the victims of this senseless crime," Brownback said. "I would also like to thank the first responders for their dedication to protecting those in need. Our hearts and prayers are with everyone in Newtown."
