Activities celebrate Assisted Living Week at St. John's By The Hays Daily News St. John's Assisted Living, 2225 Canterbury, will kick off Assisted Living Week today with a cheese and wine party at 2:30 p.m. This party, which is an annual favorite, also is a celebration of Grandparent's Day, said executive director Theresa Thomas. "The residents love it," she said of the week's activities. "We have a lot of fun." This year's assisted living week theme is "Legacies of Love." Activities will continue Monday, which has been dubbed "PJ Day" and will include a pajama fashion show. Tuesday will be a day of music, and residents will receive a special visit Wednesday from the American Legion Patriot Guard. Everyone is encouraged to wear red, white and blue, and there will be a family barbecue at 5 p.m. Residents will enjoy a spa day on Thursday, and the week's activities will conclude with Western day on Friday.
