Louise Stadalman, 83, Herington, formerly of Clay Center, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Salina Regional Health Center.

She was born on March 15, 1925, in Herington to Charles E. and Amelia L. (Knaak) Benson. She was a 1943 graduate of Herington High School.

She married Carl R. Stadalman Jr. on Jan. 20, 1946, in Herington. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2005. She was a sales clerk at Deatrick Shoes, J.C. Penney, Wills Market and Otis Westside Store.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Ross Stadalman, Hays; a daughter, Carla Cummings, Herington; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until noon Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Crematory Herington Chapel, Herington.

Memorials are suggested to the "Pet Tribute" at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, 103 Trotter Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506 in care of the funeral home.
