Monarch wrestlers claim four titles at MSAA

LARNED -- Thomas More Prep-Marian had four individual champions and finished fourth out of five teams at Saturday's Mid-State Activities Association Championships.

Sophomore Dylan Schumacher took first at 112 pounds, sophomore Austin Werth won at 140, senior Preston Werth won gold at 189 and senior Jesse Barnes was the winner at 285 pounds.

Monarch freshman Lucas Walker finished third at 103 pounds.

TMP-Marian went 1-3 in duals for its fourth-place finish. The Monarchs beat Larned 39-24 but lost 52-24 to Pratt, 65-16 to Ulysses and 58-15 to Scott City, which went 4-0 in duals to win the MSAA title.
